After many months of planning, we’re excited to share that Filigree & Shadow is relocating to Belgium.

In the near future, my husband and I will be moving to Brussels to begin the process of rebuilding the perfume house from the ground up. This decision has been years in the making, shaped by both personal values and a commitment to growing Filigree & Shadow in a place that feels aligned with our vision.

We explored several countries as potential new homes – Germany, Portugal, the UK, the Netherlands – and ultimately found that Belgium offered the most welcoming path forward. The warmth of the communities we connected with in Brussels confirmed it was the right choice.

Moving internationally is a complex process that goes far beyond packing boxes. We’ve completed everything from apostilling our marriage and birth certificates to arranging medical documentation and securing background checks. Soon, I’ll be closing my West Seattle studio and preparing our final shipments. The Ambroxan, for the record, is definitely coming with me.

Once we are settled, I’ll be focusing on finding a new retail location that can also serve as a manufacturing space. Relaunching Filigree & Shadow in Europe means starting from scratch: sourcing materials, adapting to EU regulations, and gradually rebuilding the collection. It’s a significant undertaking, and it may be 2026 before the first fragrance is ready again.

If you have a favorite scent you’d like to add to your collection, I encourage you to place your orders soon, as all current fragrances will be retired during the transition.

In the months ahead, I’ll be sharing more updates about our progress and what it takes to move a niche fragrance business across an ocean. Thank you for your support and for being part of this story.

I look forward to welcoming you to our new chapter in Brussels.
