I love acquiring samples and discovery sets from friends and fellow independent artisan perfumers. It’s a joy to share them with studio visitors who want to smell all the smells. After all, we’re in community, not competition, and I’d rather see another independent perfumer stacking their paper than a mainstream niche house.

Still, I’m a sucker for discovery sets, and what you’re looking at is the result of years of collecting them from mainstream niche brands during my trips to Europe—and that one time Justin went to Copenhagen without me. Now, as you can see, my studio is bursting at the seams with those sample sets. So what better time than the New Year to hold a contest that helps me declutter and brings you new scents to explore? I ask you.

Here’s how it works:

The Prizes
Eleven winners will receive three discovery sets each from a mix of brands—some you know, some you’ll soon adore. The twelfth winner will receive seven hefty fragrance samples from a classic house, and four fragrances from everyone’s favorite fragrance magazine. I’ll also toss in a few single sample sprays amongst the prizes because, honestly, I’ve accumulated quite a lot. All items are alcohol-based, gently used, and as-is. Think of it as a treasure hunt for your nose.

Eligibility
Due to shipping restrictions, this contest is open to U.S.-based customers only. If you’re outside the U.S. and you have friends who also go by the name “mule,” well.

How to Enter
For each full-size perfume bottle you purchase in January, you’ll receive one physical raffle ticket. Tickets will be included with your order, whether you shop online or visit my studio in person.

Key Dates
The contest runs through 11:59 PM Pacific on January 31, 2025. Winners will be randomly drawn and notified on February 1st via email or phone.

The Fine Print
Winners will receive three discovery sets chosen at random by me. (Except the twelfth winner as I already mentioned heretofore.) Every set has been opened and used at least once, but I promise you’ll get a generous selection of scents to explore. No returns, no exchanges—NO WHINING.
