Filigree & Shadow at VIN + OMI
Hello, VIN + OMI attendees.
I hope you enjoyed today’s fashion show, aptly titled Dysphoriana. I’m both chuffed and deeply honored to have been a small part of your multi-sensory experience. In each of your goodie bags, you’ll find a sample set from my fragrance house, Filigree & Shadow.
A little about me: I’m James Elliott, an independent perfumer originally from Seattle, Washington. My work is rooted in the idea that perfume is both art and experience—something that can move people, spark memories, and even challenge the way we think about scent. I create my fragrances by hand, with a focus on accessibility.
(A small note: if a few boxes came unglued during transit, my apologies. Every one of them was assembled by hand, and I did my best to ensure they’d all arrive intact.)
Two of the fragrances in your set come from my collection of water-based perfumes. Instead of alcohol, I use water as the carrier. This allows them to be shipped anywhere in the world, and it also makes them a welcome option for anyone who prefers to avoid alcohol-based products. A paraben-free preservative keeps them safe for both skin and hair.
Blume
Notes: Blue Dahlia, Chrysanthemum, Dandelion, Marigold, Muguet, Rose, Thistle, Tulip, Water Lily

Notget
Notes: Ambergris, Ocean Water, Musk, Sea Salt

If you love Blume or Notget, both are available for purchase on my website—and yes, I ship regularly to the UK.
The third fragrance in your set is We are the Earth Intruders, created exclusively for VIN + OMI. This perfume is made from UK invasive plants: Impatiens, Japanese Knotweed, Orange Hawkweed, Pennywort, Rhododendron, Water Primrose, Yellow Nutsedge, and Yellow Toadflax. Instead of water, alcohol, or oil, the carrier here is Triethyl Citrate—derived from grape alcohol and citric acid from discarded citrus peels.
This fragrance is Not For Sale. It’s a concept piece: perfume as art, rooted in sustainability.
I’ve also included three scent strips for you to try each perfume on paper before applying them to skin. For those who like to experiment, Blume and Notget layer beautifully together.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work. I hope these perfumes bring you moments of beauty, curiosity, and connection.
